Food and drugs transport facilitated – What does regular Turkish Cargo Airlines service bring to us?

Turkish Cargo offers the most efficient connection with the leading production and commercial centers worldwide thanks to its fleet comprising 241 Turkish Airlines aircraft. The company network includes 250 destinations in 105 countries in the world, including 49 destinations with regular cargo lines which 9 Turkish Cargo planes serve.

- The initiative to open a cargo line from the Nikola Tesla airport exists since more than 2 years ago, when the first discussions with the reps of Turkish Airlines Cargo started in Istanbul - Damir Defrancheski, the director of Cargo agent navigator which is a representative of Turkish Airlines Cargo in the territory of the Republic of Serbia, says for our portal.

- During the recent years, we have been presenting the advantages of the Republic of Serbia and the Nikola Tesla airport compared to the airports in the surroundings. We explained them not only the potential of our country but also the options for connecting the neighboring countries with the Nikola Tesla airport. In that case, the Belgrade-based airport, due to its geographical position, would serve as a cargo hub for the countries in our region, connecting them with the countries of Asia, America, and Canada. After Turkish Airlines Cargo analyzed the situation, in accordance with the results we achieved as their representative in the previous years, the cargo line opening project implementation was commenced – Defrancheski told eKapija.

He stressed that after the opening of the direct cargo line to companies from the Republic of Serbia and the countries in the region, product placement to foreign markets would be significantly facilitated and transport costs would be reduced to a large extent.

- We expect a significant growth of trade in the following months, especially with the countries of the Middle East, Asia and America. Current economic data on exports from the region and the Republic of Serbia which is generating a growing trend best illustrate the problems faced by the companies that want to place their products. A large step should be taken in that field of our economy as well. We hope this move will contribute to that.

Defrancheski expects that the new cargo line will be a significant support to the companies engaged in the food and pharmaceutical business.

- We also showed that in the previous period with limited capacities we had, but we still implemented a number of projects with respect to food and drugs export from the region to the countries of the Middle East and Asia. Apart from food and pharmaceutical industry, we expect that we will be of great use to our other industries since we can ensure safe and quality transport of all kinds of products with the network of cargo aircrafts to over 90 destinations. The advantages of opening a line with this type of aircraft lie, among other things, in the fact that we can provide a special regime for the transport of sensitive kinds of dispatches such as transport of live animals which require special treatment.
