"East Point" plans procurement of 130 barges of Yugoslav River Shipping

Company "East point", which became the owner of 257 river ships from Austria and Hungary, plans procurement of 130 barges, the property of Yugoslav River Shipping (JRB).

The owner of company "East Point", Zoran Drakulić, announced that those were in connection with the estimate that the increase in transportation of goods by the Danube was expected and that 3.5m tons of cereals would be exported from the port and the silo of "East Point" in Konstanza.

Company "East point" has recently bought 135 boats from Austria and 122 cargo ships from Hungary. Drakulić said that the sales contract was worth more than 100m EUR and that the offer of his company on the international tender had been better than the offers of the companies from Austria, France, Bulgaria and Ukraine.

- Having bought this fleet, we will be able to annually transport 3.5m tons of cereals and metal and steel concentrates from Rotterdam in Netherlands to Konstanza in Romania, which will put us among the most powerful European companies in that field - Drakulić added.
