SOKOLOVIĆ: Tender for Petroleum Industry of Serbia as one of the first moves of new Government

The Assistant Minister of Mining and Energy of Serbia, Slobodan Sokolović, stated that one of the first moves of the new Government should be announcement of the tender for privatization of Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS), pointing out that that would be good for both State and the company.
- The Government's task force in charge of the privatization of NIS has finished the job with the privatization councilor - consortium "Merrill Lynch – Raiffeisen Investment" and now everything is in the hands of the Privatization Agency of Serbia - said Sokolović.
He pointed out that, through privatization, NIS should become strong and competitive company on the regional market, the company that would be the carrier of the economic development of Serbia. He also added that numerous oil companies, such as MOL, OMV, "Lukoil", "Hellenic Petroleum", "Rompetrol", KPM ... had expressed their interest, through the privatization councilor, in the participation in the privatization of NIS.
