Japan wrote off 104 million USD worth of debt to SCG

Minister of International Economic Relations of Serbia and Montenegro, Predrag Ivanović, and ambassador of Japan to SCG, Rjuići Tanabe, signed the Agreement on restructuring of debt of the State Union of SCG towards Japan in accordance with conditions agreed with Club de Paris.

Sine 1998, the Government of Japan provided about 82 million USD worth of economical aid to SCG for the purpose of support to democratization process and economic reforms. Total amount of debt of SCG amounts to about 19.7 billion CNY, which is about 185 million USD. Total amount of write-off debt is about 11 billion CNY, which is 104 million USD. Reprogrammed remainder of the debt will be repaid with lower interest rate and prolonged repayment period.
