Pozarevac Industrial Zone gets its first investor - Italian company Nardi to invest EUR 8 million

The City of Pozarevac will allot 4.2 hectares of building land in the new industrial zone to the Italian company Nardi which plans to open up a production facility for auxiliary agricultural machines there. This land is completely equipped with infrastructure that will be given to Nardi for free provided that the company builds a factory on that site and creates 120 new jobs.

This investment was announced by a Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the Italian companny and Pozarevac Mayor Miomir Ilic.

- Representatives of the Italian company previously negotiated with few other towns in Serbia. In the end, they picked Pozarevac because it offers the most favorable terms - Deputy Mayor Miodrag Stepanoci said on that occasion.

The factory should be built within the next three years. This investment totals EUR 8 million. Italians are going to invest EUR 2.024 million in the first phase, 3.08 million in the second phase, and 2.896 million in the third phase.

One of the reasons why Nardi opted for Pozarevac is because the Morava factory for producing agricultural machines operates in this city.

- This factory in Pozarevac can help us find qualified staff for our production facilities - said Virgilio Nardi, the owner of the Italian company.

The new industrial zone is situated in an area between the Pozarevac hippodrome and Djure Djakovica Street. It occupied a surface area of about 20 hectares.

Nardi operates in 85 countries and owns factories in Italy, China, Venezuela and Mexico. For the needs of its operations in Pozarevac, the Nardi group established the company Nardi Balkan in December 2013 with a headquarters in Sumadijska Street.
