Government of Austria to invest 5m EUR in economic development of Vojvodina

The Head of the Executive Council of Vojvodina, Bojan Pajtić, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria, Ursula Plasnik, have signed the agreement on aid from Austrian Government in amount of 5m EUR for the economic development of Vojvodina.

These funds, according to the words of Pajtić, will be spent on the attracting of foreign investments, promotion of Vojvodina's products on foreign markets and creation of new jobs.

Plasnik pointed to the successful cooperation between not only Serbia and Austria, but also between certain regions and local self-governments in those countries. As an example, she mentioned good relations between Vojvodina and Styria and North Austria.

The signing of the agreement on strategic partnership for economic development of Vojvodina took place in the presence of the General Manager of Austrian DEvelopment Agency Michael Linhart.
