Sale of Ikarbus buses with Mercedes sign started

Aleksandar Vicentic, the director of the bus and special vehicle factory Ikarbus, said that the sale of city buses built by that Belgrade-based factory on the Mercedes chassis had begun Friday (14 March 2014).

He told the press at the Car Show in Belgrade that that bus would be offered to cities in Serbia and the region, adding that it would appear in the streets of Belgrade in few months.

The prototype of that city bus was unveiled March 9th, when it was announced that it would be priced at EUR 130,000.

According to Vicentic, the Ikarbus city bus with Euro-5 engine is already attracting the attention of buyers, especially those in Croatia and Romania.

- We expect bus production and sales to be at a significant level next year - said Vicentic.

He added that that bus was the first in a series of models that Ikarbus and Mercedes planned to launch over the next 2-2.5 years.
