Telekom brings Apple to Serbia

Telekom Srbija General Manager Predrag Culibrk announced today that m:ts had become the first mobile operator in Serbia to sign an agreement with the world's largest company - Apple.

- We will be selling iPhones primarily as part of our packages - Culibrk said and explained that that would ensure favorable terms for the acquisition of these mobile devices and make them affordable even for those who thought they would never be able to buy them.

Culibrk told the national broadcasting corporation RTS that he expected iPhone devices to hit m:ts stores in 1.5 or 2 months, as soon as all the testing was done.

He added that they were still talking with Apple about the ways to register users, explaining that they should be able to register with an address in Serbia, and not in neighboring countries or the USA.

Reminding that Apple was currently the most valuable company in the world, with a market cap exceeding USD 450 billion, Culibrk stressed that Telekom Srbija was very proud of that arrangement that had been signed after months-long negotiations.

- I believe that the agreement we made will make both state and our users very happy - he noted.
