Energy Minister Zorana Mihajlovic signed Tuesday, on behalf of the Serbian government, a Memorandum of Understanding with the representatives of the Electric Power Company of Serbia (EPS) and the Swiss company Alpiq Central Europe that is going to help EPS trade in electricity in the European market.

Mihajlovic said in the Government of Serbia that EPS and one of the three largest and leading European electricity manufacturers and traders - Alpiq, would enter into a good partnership, adding that it was very important for the power supply system of Serbia.

The minister reminded that the high-voltage electricity market in Serbia had been opened in 2013, the medium-voltage electricity market in 2014, and that there was a possibility of opening the low-voltage electricity market in July 2014.
