Reconstruction of theaters "Duško Radović" and "Zvezdara teatar" to start in May, total value of project - more than 20m EUR

Long-expected reconstruction of "Zvezdara teatar" and theater "Duško Radović" will finally start in May 2007.

Total of 13.5m EUR will be invested in the construction of practically new "Zvezdara teatar", while the rehabilitation of dilapidated "Duško Radović" theater, damaged in the NATO bombing, will cost 7.5m EUR.

- The old stage in "Zvezdara teatar" will be completely torn down and the contractors will be selected prior to May - Assistant to Mayor, Gorica Mojović, explained.

Future "Zvezdara teatar" will occupy about 7,500 square meters and the big stage will have 780 seats. The project also implies VIP and theater club with outdoor restaurant, which will also be used for summer stage spectacles.

As far as theater "Duško Radović" is concerned, the works on the renovation of this building will last for at least 2 years. The Civil Engineering Faculty in Belgrade currently estimates the static condition of the building.
