Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and the representatives of the German company Stratic talked Thursday about the intentions of this company to start production and hire 600 workers in Backa Palanka over the next three years, the Government announced in a release.
- The Serbian government will continue to provide full support to investors who want to start production in our country and offer them good working conditions - said Dacic.
Stratic intends to export 100% of its production in Serbia and has plans to relocate all its factories from other countries to Serbia if it gets good conditions here, the release reads.
As announced in November 2013, this German company was interested in taking over Backa Palanka-based Merkur which used to employ about 1,000 workers and produce fashion handbags and other leather products. The factory has had two unsuccessful privatization attempts.
