- In the previous years we have invested great efforts to provide legal frameword suitable for the inflow of foreign investments. Now the fight for the application of legal regulations lies ahead of us. Also, the educational level of the population, which used to be our advantage 15 years ago, must be adapted to the new technological demands - said Boško Kostić, the President of the Foreign Investors Council, at the Conference "World and Regional Investment Trends and Recommendations for Serbia".

Serbia is still on the list of countries that are attractive for foreign "greenfield" investments, because, until the last-year turn when about 4 billion USD were invested in the domestic economy, the climate had been infavorable for the investments.

For the stable and sustainable growth of economy, which would result in the reaching of the level of mid-developed countries, what is necessary is a continued inflow of 2-3 billion EUR worth of foreign "greenfield" investments. One of the conclusions of the meeting is that, after the changes that took place in the past years, now is the right moment for Serbia to reexamine its strategy for attracting of foreign investments.
