Erste no longer among bidders for Hypo Bank Serbia

Andreas Treihl, the chairman of the Executive Board of the Erste group, announced Friday (28 February 2014) that that bank was no longer among the bidders for Hypo Bank Serbia.
He told a press conference that the Erste group was not afraid that the bankruptcy of Hypo Alpe Adria Bank could lower the rating of Erste Bank, adding that "whichever decision is made, we are ready to accept it" and that there were no two identical bankruptcies.
Treihl noted that there were banks that would be hit by the possible bankruptcy of Hypo Bank, stressing that Erste Bank was not one of them as it had almost no loans or bonds in the Hypo group.
