USAID implemented 1,043 projects and invested more than 20m USD in Serbia

- In the scope of the Community REvitalization through Democratic Action (CRDA) Program, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) financed 1043 projects in 26 municipalities in Vojvodina and East Serbia in the past five years - Endre Balaša, the Associate of the American Development Foundation, which executes that program, stated.
He pointed out that the total value of the implemented projects equalled 38.7m USD, 20.55m USD of which were provided by USAID and 18.2m USD by the local communities. Reminding that this is a five-year program, which ends in May, he said that 204,000 people had been included in the projects in field of environment protection, reconstruction and development of infrastructure, economic development and social infrastructure.
- In the past three years, the focus in work was on the motivation of economic development in local communities - Balaša said and pointed out that 2m USD had been invested into 149 agricultural programs.
In addition, through support for the teaming up of agriculturists, over 90 collective farms and farmers' associations have been established.
