Members of the Group of Accounting Agencies which operates as part of the Banking and Insurance Committee of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC) met with Tax Administration officials to identify the problems emerging when filing electronic withholding tax returns and to find solutions to them.

Branislava Zunjic, the secretary of the SCC Banking and Insurance Committee, said that the communication between accountants and the Tax Administration was in the mutual interest to ensure smooth functioning of the system of unified withholding tax collection as of 1 March 2014.

Representatives of accounting agencies pointed to some technical and practical problems at aforementioned meeting. It was suggested that the system should be additionally improved.

Milica Bisic, the manager of the unified tax collection project, and Sasa Dulic, the assistant to the director of Tax Administration, pointed out that there would be no extension of the deadline for mandatory electronic filing of withholding tax.

The two sides also agreed that the cooperation between the Tax Administration and the Group of Accounting Agencies should continue in the preparations for the switch to mandatory electronic tax filing for all taxes in July 2014.
