Trade between Serbia and Germany in 2013 was at EUR 2.78 billlion, up 11.7 percent from the previous year, the German Chamber of Commerce in Serbia announced Thursday.

In the above period, Germany imported EUR 1.202 billion worth of goods from Serbia whose imports from Germany totaled EUR 1.584 billion. In that way, the current deficit of Serbia was quite reduced as it dropped to EUR 381.83 million last year from, for example, EUR 968.29 million in 2008.

The German Chamber of Commerce in Serbia, which operates in our country since 2001, points out that Serbia's exports to Germany are on a rise, mainly owing to numerous German companies in Serbia that sell their products from factories across our country to their buyers and partners in Germany and the EU.

For that reason, German will certainly remain one of the most important foreign trade partners of Serbia in the future, considering that the expansion of production facilities of certain German companies across our country is underway and that these factories will reach their peak production in the years to come.
