Bulgarian-Serbian Business Council founded - Investment Forum in Nis scheduled for spring

The Bulgarian-Serbian Business Council, an association of local companies interested in establishing bilateral economic cooperation, was founded Tuesday (25 February 2014) in the Regional Chamber of Commerce in Nis. All interested companies can join the Council by simply filling out a form in the Regional SME Development Center in Nis or the Regional Business Assistance Center for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in the Bulgarian town of Pernik.
Vladimir Dodic, the director of the Regional SME Development Center in Nis, explained that the newly formed Bulgarian-Serbian Business Council would be providing logistics support to companies that expressed readiness to launch new investments in the Nis or Pernik area.

- The Council is formed as part of the Business Without Limits project which aims to attract investors and strengthen economic cooperation between companies operating in the territory of the Nisava Region and Pernik - said Dodic.

He pointed out that the establishment of the Bulgarian-Serbian Business Council was only one of the activities to be done by April, when the project was set to end.

- We are going to organize the Investment Forum in Nis in a month and a half, and the same forum will be organized by partners from Bulgaria as well. The forum will see the presentation of investment projects that are deemed profitable. We expect this forum to attract some companies ready to implement such projects - said Dodic.

The Business Without Limits project is mainly financed by the European Union through its Bulgaria-Serbia IPA Cross-Border Programme. For this purpose, the EU set aside over EUR 100,000, partners from Bulgaria provided EUR 10,221, while the Regional SME Development Center in Nis contributed EUR 7,973.
