Tournament "VOLLEY STAR 2007" to gather women's volleyball teams of USA, Croatia and Serbia in Belgrade at the beginning of January 2007

International tournament for women cadets "VOLLEY STAR 2007" will be held in Belgrade from January 3 to January 5, 2007.

It is the traditional tournament organized by Volleyball Club "Volley star" from Belgrade, in which eight teams from the country and abroad will participate. Trophy "Volley Star" will end in the hands of some of the following teams: "USA YNT" and "USA Select Team" from USA, "Mladost" from Zagreb and "Pula", volleyball clubs "Crvena Zvezda", "Poštar", "Radnički" and "Volley star".

- This tournament is part of the official calendar of the Volleyball Association of Belgrade and it will gather about 100 girls from Serbia, Croatia and USA - says the President of the "Volley star" Club, Emir Omanović, and adds that all games will be played in the Hall of Sports in Novi Beograd.

Omanović explains that the idea about volleyball tournamen of this kind appeared in 2003, through collaboration with Slovenian clubs. Later, that story expanded to the other countries of former SFRY, further to Europe and, today, to the USA. Thus, this tournament, the fourth in a row, is specific because of the fact that, in addition to the competitive feature, it has rich accompanying contents.

- The aim of this tournament is not only the sport competition, but also the possibility that our girls get familiar with the cultures of the other countries and the foreign girls with Belgrade and Serbia – says Omanović.

The program of this manifestion includes sightseeing tour of Belgrade, hanging out, parties and all these under slogan "Friends forever", says Omanović.
