MISKOVIC: Delta returns to retailing

Delta Holding will continue to sell and buy companies as before, so it will be no surprise if we return to the retailing business, Delta Holding President Miroslav Miskovic told a press conference on Wednesday.

He did not want to disclose the details of their plans to the public, so he did not tell if they were planning to open a new market chain or take over an existing one in Serbia or in the region.

- I cannot tell you right now which companies we plan to sell and buy – Miskovic stressed.

He pointed out that Delta Holding's development had not been based on operating revenue, but on the acquisition and sale of companies.

- Delta Holding has generated a revenue of EUR 1.5 billion from the sale of its companies in the past ten years, during which our revenue from exports totaled EUR 500 million. In the last decade, Delta has improved Serbia's FX balance by EUR 200 million per year – Miskovic explained.

Delta Holding sold Delta Banka for EUR 400 million in 2005, Delta Osiguranje for EUR 120 million, and Maxi retail chain for EUR 932 million in 2011.
