Surplus in trade with CEFTA in 2013 at USD 1.73 billion

Serbia registered a surplus of USD 1.73 billion in trade with CEFTA countries in 2013, mainly as a result of the export of agricultural products and various finished goods, the data provided by the Republic Statistical Office (RSO) show.

Serbia's exports to CEFTA countries in the previous year mainly focused on grains, various beverages and finished products. When it comes to import, the focus was on iron and steel, electricity, fruits and vegetables.

Serbia's exports in the given period totalled USD 2.72 billion, whereas imports amounted to USD 988.9 million, meaning that the coverage of imports by exports was at 274.6%.

According to RSO, Croatia is a new member of the European Union and a former member of the CEFTA group since July 2013, which also affected trade results.

Serbia also recorded a surplus of about USD 1.32 billion in trade with CEFTA countries in 2012 as a result of the export of agricultural products, iron and steel.
