Foreign trade deficit in 2013 cut by 23 percent

Serbia's foreign trade deficit in 2013 was at USD 5.93 billion, down 23 percent from the previous year, the Republic Statistical Office (RSO) announced.

In 2013 Serbia exported goods worth USD 14.61 billion, up 30.1 percent from 2012, and imported USD 20.54 billion worth of goods, up 8.5% from the year before.

The coverage of imports by exports was 71.1%, and it was higher than in the same period in 2012, when it amounted to 59.3 percent.

Serbia's top export partners were Italy, Germany, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Russian Federation and Montenegro.

When it comes to imports, our country's main foreign trade partners were Italy, Germany, Russian Federation, China and Hungary.

Trade was the biggest with the countries with which Serbia has free trade agreements with EU countries accounting for 62.2 percent of Serbia's overall trade in 2013.
