Privatization of Telekom Slovenije should start by the end of February, and the Slovenian government expects to net about EUR 700 million from that sale.
As TMT Finance reports, this sale will be managed by Sitigroup. Among the prospective buyers are Deutsche Telekom, that is Croatia's Telekom that is majority owned by Germans, and Norway's Telenor.
Interest is also expressed by two private companies - Cinven and Providence, the business web portal Seebiz has reported.
In the meantime, Telekom Slovenije has announced it will sell its 50-percent stake in Gibtelecom, the main telecom firm in Gibraltar, which has been speculated for few months now.
The Slovenian company paid that stake EUR 36.8 million in April 2007, the media report.
