Ljubisa Milosavljevic, assistant to the mayor of Vrsac, and Milos Vasic, a Municipal Council member in charge of environmental protection, have had a working meeting with a delegation of Italian investors with which Vrsac has been negotiating the construction of biomass power plant for a year now, the local web portal eVrsac reports.
- The delegation of Italian investors was led by Giuseppe Forlaneli and Alzerni Badin Enea. The main topic of the talks was the finalization of agreement on organized biomass collection in the territory of Vrsac - Vasic told eVrsac.
Italian investors plan to build a biomass power plant with a capacity of up to 10 MW in Vrsac.
After visiting a location that experts recommended as the most suitable for the construction of one such cogeneration plant, the Italian partner expressed great satisfaction with the site and infrastructure on it, eVrsac reports.
Vasic pointed out after the talks that he expected the implementation of that investment to begin in the second half of 2014.
- It would mean a lot to future investors who want to build new plants in our industrial zone because they would have cheaper energy at their disposal right from the start - said Vasic.
