Gorenje moves dishwasher production from Sweden to Slovenia

Slovenia's Gorenje has launched dishwasher production in its headquarters in Velenje, which will make it possible for this company to hire additional 300 workers.

These dishwashers used to be produced by Gorenje's subsidiary Asco in Sweden, the web portal Seebiz reports. Production is now moved to Slovenia because it was too expensive in Sweden, Gorenje CEO Franjo Bobinac said after commissioning the new production line in Velenje.

He specified that the relocation of production from Sweden to Slovenia and from Slovenia to Serbia would save Gorenje EUR 20 million annually, but he also added that no similar moves would be made in the near future. After a crisis in the past few years, the Gorenje group is again Slovenia's No.1 exporter.
