The Finance Ministry said in a release on Thursday that the announcement that the World Bank was not going to decide on the loan to Serbia in late February did not mean that our country had given up that loan or that the country's budget was endangered.
It would be good for Serbia to get that loan from the World Bank, but even if that fails to happen, our budget is not jeopardized because the budget liquidity does not depend on that, people at the Finance Ministry told Tanjug news agency.
The World Bank's loan of USD 250 million is not given up, only the decision is postponed because the Serbian parliament has not yet had a session to adopt laws on privatization and bankruptcy, said people at the Ministry.
The World Bank postponed its decision on whether to extend a USD 250 million loan to Serbia because appropriate laws have not been adopted yet, people at the World Bank Office in Belgrade told Tanjug on Thursday.
