Draft Labor Law promulgation process (not) halted - Government, trade unions and employers to form team to examine disputed document

Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic reached an agreement on Monday with members of the Collegium of the Social-Economic Council - Ljubisav Orbovic, Branislav Canak and Nebojsa Atanackovic - to resolve all issues related to laws on labor, privatization and bankruptcy through a social dialogue between the Government, trade unions and employers, the Serbian government announced in a release.

They decided to form a joint team to examine the Draft of the Labor Law, after which it can be forwarded to the Government and the Parliament for adoption. It was also agreed to discuss the proposed solutions for privatization and bankruptcy laws at the next session of the Social-Economic Council, the release reads.

- The Labor Law promulgation process is not halted - Aleksandar Vucic said Monday, commenting on media speculations that a decision to stop that process was made at Monday's Collegium of the Social-Economic Council and that a new task force would be formed to prepare draft amendments to that law.
