Soon Association of Cities and Municipalities against GMO

More than 100 cities and municipalities from Serbia, which have so far adopted the Declaration against genetically modified organisms (GMO), will form Association of cities and municipalities which will get involved in the European fight against GMO.

President of the Association of Agricultural Economists of Serbia, Miladin Sevarlic, announced for Tanjug, that practically more than 80% of the citizens living on the territory of those local managements voted against GMO.
- We are about to form Association of cities and municipalities in Serbia which have adopted the Declaration, and then we should join European Federation without GMO, in order to get involved in the European ways against genetically modified organisms, said Sevarlis, adding that formation of the Association is expected in 15 days.
Each municipality will have one representative, who will name and appoints its representatives in the European Union consisting of 5.000 local managements.
