The biggest Kragujevac-based hotel was sold to Milorad Božović, the citizen of Serbia who lives and works in Sweden for 30 years, for €800,000. Božović bought "Kragujevac" hotel, of which capacity is 114 rooms, according to system of closed offers and took over 32 employees of that hotel.
It is expected that at least €800,000 will be invested in rehabilitation and renovation of the hotel. Some of the rehabilitation works have already started, such as preparation of summer garden, which will equipped with new tables and chairs, bar and adequate floor lighting, and all that in the scope of preparations for forthcoming season.
At the end of June 2005, the works on "Mezazin" restaurant and the dance hall will start, whereas the rehabilitation of heating system and dilapidated electrical and plumbing utilities will start at the end of summer. Reconstruction of all 114 rooms will commence in autumn. The redesigning works will be first carried out on 27 two-bed rooms, 17 one-bed rooms and 3 suites on all three floors of the hotel. The rooms on the first floor will be organized for the foreign guests and they will be rated with five stars.
The general idea is that "Kragujevac" become European hotel, with 5 starts, in the city downtown.
Milorad Božović, who was born in village of Bumbarevo Brdo near Knić, is also the owner of meat packing factory in Malme, as well as meat product market chain in Sweden. (Pregled)
