The new concern for production and sale of confectionery products "Bambi-Banat" Belgrade will be put into operation at the beginning of year 2007 and the plan is that about 28,000 tons of confectioneries from that company be sold in 2007 with the income of about 72.5m EUR.

The new concern is the result of merging of "Banat" from Vršac, one of the oldest factory of chocolate and candies, and company "Bambi" from Požarevac - the leader in production of confectioneries.

The decision about merging was made unanimously by the stockholders of both companies at the meetings of their assemblies last week. It is expected that the status change will soon be officially confirmed by the Securities Commission and the Business Registry Agency .

The headquarters of the new company will be in Belgrade, whereas the production will be ran in the units in Požarevac, Vršac and Braničevo, so that the merging process, commenced in 2005, when "Salford" took over Vršac-based "Banat", is now completed with the merging of these two confectionery companies.
