Swarovski begins factory construction in Subotica

Pleasant spring days in January allowed SBM gradnja to start its machines and begin preparing the land in the industrial zone Mali Bajmok for the construction of a production facility of Austria's Swarovski, the web portal GradSubotica.co.rs reports.

The first announcements of this construction were made in November 2011 when the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development shared the first details of this investment with the public. An agreement between the City of Subotica, the Republic of Serbia and Swarovski representatives was signed in the spring 2012, when the company announced an investment of EUR 21 million.

Swarovski plans to invest EUR 15 million in the first phase and start production, 100 percent of which will be exported.
