Renovated bridge on Bogojevo-Erdut railway put into operation

Minister of Capital Investments, Velimir Ilić, and State Secretary of the Government of Croatia, Zdravko Livaković, have put the renovated railway bridge across the Danube, on Bogojevo-Erdut railway, into operation.

The renovation of the bridge that connects Serbia and Croatia, which was damaged during the NATO bombing in April 1999, cost 709,000 EUR, 200,000 EUR of which were given by the Government of Norway and Belgium, whereas the rest, 309,000 EUR, was provided by the Government of Serbia.

The renovation of the bridge, 620m long, lasted from June to December 8, 2006, when the usage permit was obtained.

Minister Ilić pointed out that the renovated bridge represented the example how the complex job can be done by joint forces thanks to the good relations between the two governments, which was the proof that Serbia wanted to have good relations with Croatia.
