New 220 parking places in downtown Belgrade - Parking Servis plans to expand garage in Obilicev Venac Street in 2014

Belgrade-based Parking Servis will try to solve the problem of lack of parking space in downtown Belgrade in 2014 by building an annex to the garage in Obilicev Venac Street. As people at this company told eKapija, this project will provide additional 4,900 square meters of parking space or 22 new parking places.
- The capacity of this garage does not satisfy the needs of parking space in the central city zone, near to which a large number of public, business and trade facilities are situated. Construction of an annex of 4,900 square meters will create more parking space.
The Obilicev Venac Garage Expansion project was first suggested as a solution eight years ago. However, its implementation was impeded by paperwork and lack of money. People at Parking Servis say that the implementation of that project will take 18 months from the moment a building permit is issued.
The Obilicev Venac garage that currently covers a surface area of 14,800 square meters can accommodate 630 cars, and its occupancy rate between 12 noon and 4 PM is at 90 percent.
In 2014 Parking Servis will also work on the plan to build underground garages beneath all major markets in Belgrade.
- We will try to solve the problem of lack of parking space in the vicinity of markets in cooperation with the public utility company Pijace by building underground garages beneath the markets wherever possible - people at Parking Servis told eKapija.
