Belgrade to become regional tourist center

Belgrade is the most important part of Serbian tourist potential and it is increasingly becoming regional tourist center as well.

This estimation of the director of the Tourist Organization of Belgrade, Miodrag Popovic, support with a data that in 2013, capital has recorded an increased number of overnight stays and tourists compared to previous year.

- Belgrade is slowly becoming a kind of a regional center. These are the facts thanks to which our capital has a stable growth of overnight stays, especially foreigners – Popovic said for Tanjug.

When it comes to 2014, he is an optimist and he believes that the number of tourist, both foreigners and locals, which will visit Belgrade, will continue to increase.

Nex year is important, he reminded, also for the fact that Serbia will host a 100th anniversary of the First World War beginning and Belgrade is the city the war broke out in.

This event should attract a large number of foreign and local guests, Popovic said an repeated that he expects urban tourist season 2014.
