Serbia to participate in South Stream talks in Brussels in January

Serbia will attend a meeting on South Stream in Brussels in January that should also bring together energy ministers of all countries along the route of this gas pipeline, Energy Minister Zorana Mihajlovic said December 26th.

- South Stream construction will go as planned. When we take a look at the agreement for that project, it is clear that it's not in compliance with the EU Third Energy Package. Serbia is ready to talk about that, but that does not mean that the construction of gas pipeline will be halted - Mihajlovic told a press conference in the Serbian government.

She stressed that once the new Energy Law which would be the subject of a public debate by the end of January was put into effect, Serbia would act completely in line with the EU Third Energy Package.
