EPS electricity exports at EUR 130 million in 2013

The Electric Power Company of Serbia (EPS) improved its financial result in 2013 and achieved a record production and export of electricity, EPS Acting Director Aleksandar Obradovic said Wednesday.

Aside from the fact that its coal production hit a record high in 2013, EPS exported about EUR 130 million worth of electricity and achieved record production at its hydroelectric and thermal power stations this year, Obradovic told the press, summing up the company's performance in 2013.

He announced that EPS was ready for the new phase of market liberalization set to start in 2014, voicing his expectation that the company would keep its dominant position in the medium-voltage market in the same way it had managed to keep a market share of 97 percent in the high-voltage market.
