Possible launch of direct flights to US in H1 2014

Serbia could receive the Category 1 safety rating from the United States Federal Aviation Authorities (FAA), which would allow for the launch of direct flights to the U.S., the Civil Aviation Directorate of Serbia said in a release on Tuesday.

Milan Zivanovic, the acting director of the Civil Aviation Directorate of Serbia, told a press conference that the FAA had announced an inspection in Serbia in March 2014.

- The Directorate is fully prepared for that inspection, and I am sure that the FAA's decision will be positive - he said and added that their green light would enable Air Serbia to launch direct flights to the U.S.
