Chinese company commences work on Corridor XI

China's Shandong Hi-Speed Group has commenced the preparatory work for building the Obrenovac-Ljig highway stretch on Corridor XI.

A ceremony marking the start of work was attended by Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, Construction Minister Velimir Ilic, Transportation Minister Aleksandar Antic, Mining Minister Milan Bacevic, Koridori Srbije CEO Dmitar Djurovic, and Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Zhang Wanxue.

The work on aforementioned stretch of Corridor XI was commenced in a place called Dici, near Ljig.

Shandong Hi Speed Group signed an agreement in May to build two stretches totaling 50.2 kilometers in length: Obrenovac-Ub and Lajkovac-Ljig.

Minimum 40 percent of all the work on this project will be carried out by Serbian companies.
