Ski season opened at Mount Stara Planina

Ski season at Mount Stara Planina was opened Saturday, December 14th. Tourist workers at this mountain this season expect to attract minimum 20 percent more guests than the previous one.

Nikola Markovic, the operational manager of Falkensteiner Stara Planina Hotel, told Tanjug news agency that attendance on the opening weekend, at the very start of the season, was excellent.

- There are more skiers at Stara Planina than ever before. We expect between 5,000 and 5,500 skiers this weekend, which would be the new record - he said.

Markovic added that Stara Planina had the only gondola in Serbia, new parking lots, about 400 parking places for skiers, new basketball, futsal and multipurpose courts as well as facilities and playrooms for kids.

- Judging by the interest expressed and bookings made, this season will be about 20 percent better than the previous one - said Markovic.
