Serbian Economic Senate to be set up in Austria

The main goal of the Serbian Economic Senate in Austria, which is being set up, will be to encourage companies to invest in Serbia and export from the country.
In a statement to Tanjug on Tuesday evening, Chairman of the Senate's Managing Board Ivan Gros explained that the Senate, which will be officially presented in Belgrade in late February, will bring together sound small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and businessmen who want to cooperate.
- On those foundations, we want to try to work more intensively on export programs and then strategically place those export programs, primarily on the Austrian and German markets, and thus on the European market, Gros noted.
On the other hand, the Senate wants to try to attract prospective investors, he said.
- No investor would come to Serbia to operate in the Serbian market only, but rather to ensure its competitiveness in the European market through modern production and lower costs. That is their interest, but that is also Serbia's strategic interest. In that sense, we want to improve the investment climate and try to motivate companies in Serbia that wish to adjust to that concept - Gros underscored.
The senates in Vienna and Belgrade will cooperate directly, the vision being that they constitute a bridge between entrepreneurs of the two countries, he added.
The Serbian Economic Senate was presented in Vienna on Tuesday evening at a meeting titled "Business Bridge Serbia-Austria-Europe" organized by the Austrian Economic Senate.
