Steam Power Plant "Kostolac A" obtained modern electric filters, investment worth 5m EUR

On Friday (December 1, 2006), in Kostolac, the electric filter that will reduce pollution in Steam Power Plant "Kostolac A" from the current 800 to 40 mg per cubic meter was put into operation.
This is one of the investments for which European Agency for Reconstruction provided 5m EUR and which directly reduces pollution by 20 times.
Republic ministries of mining and energy, Radomir Naumov, and of science and environment protection, Aleksandar Popović, general manager of Electric Power Company of Serbia, Vladimir Đorđević, the acting director of the European Agency for Reconstruction in Serbia, Bernard Bakli, and the head of the delegation of European Commission in Serbia, Ambassador Žozep Ljoveras, spoke about the significance of this investment.
As it was said on that occasion, total investments in 2006 in the economy of Kostolac amount to 100m EUR. European Agency will invest 450m EUR in the Electric Power Company of Serbia, whereas the total investments in the power supply system of Serbia within next 10 years will equal 1.2 billion USD.
