Italian company Moretto is building a factory for the production of forged sheet metal and castings in the Brzan industrial zone in Batocina, primarily for the needs of the automotive industry.

While touring the construction site in Batocina on November 22th, Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic said that low unemployment rate of 24 percent represented the main problem in Serbia, pointing out that the arrival of foreign investors in our country was essential to tackling that issue, the Serbian government announced in a release.

In the presence of Moretto's owner Alfredino Moretto and Milasin Arsic, director of the factory in Brzan, Dacic stressed that the creation of new jobs in the time of economic crisis was a heroic deed.

The Batocina municipality and the Moretto company signed an agreement in early September 2013 to build a EUR 4 million factory in the Brzan industrial zone.

Construction of this factory on an area of two hectares commenced in October, whereas production should begin next year.

The investor is obligated to hire 50 workers immediately and another 80 later on. Of the total number of employees, 70 percent should reside in the municipality of Batocina.
