European debut of Serbian mayonnaise of whey – company "Empire" turned innovation into reality

Company "Empire" from village of Kusovac near Knić will send to Serbian market the product that is innovation not only in our country, but also on the territory of entire Europe.

It is a mayonnase of whey named "Lite Majonez", the production of which the aforementioned company started few months ago. In its intention to represent new product as good as possible, company "Empire" took part in this-year Entrepreneurial Fair "Business Base" in Belgrade, obviously determined to test its idea on that place and to listen to the reactions of the future buyers.

- Our intention is, first of all, to offer "Lite Majonez" to bio-pantries in Belgrade and then to enter bigger market chains. There are several reasons why we decided to produce whey mayonnaise. The first one is, of course, its exceptional nutrition, that is, the fact that whey is very rich with proteins, calcium and amino acids. Of course, there is also our wish to close the circle of the existing production cycle and to return the whey we used to throw away into the production – the owner of company "Empire" Dragan Ćendić explains for "Ekapija".

He says that the factory in village of Kusovac has about 1,000 square meters of working surface and five employees. It exists since 1998 and, so far, it has dealt with the production of cheeses and other dairy products.

- The project for production of whey mayonnaise was awarded at the Fair of developing ideas that was held in May 2006 in Belgrade. The expert jury declared our idea one of five most successful and the World Bank assigned significant means for the commencement of production. Over 50,000 EUR have been invested in the equipment we have procured so far. Our plan is to make the mayonnaise of goat whey – Ćendić explains.
