Building permit for South Stream handed over to Bajatovic

Construction Minister Velimir Ilic yesterday signed and handed a building permit for the Serbian stretch of transnational gas pipeline South Stream to Dusan Bajatovic, the executive director of Juzni Tok Srbija (South Stream Serbia).

- This is a very important event for Serbia - Ilic pointed out after handing the permit for the first phase of works to Bajatovic.

This ceremony was attended by Energy Minister Zorana Mihajlovic, Minister of Natural Resources, Mining and Spatial Planning Milan Bacevic and Deputy Trade Representative of Russian Federation in Serbia Ilja Pceljnik.

Bajatovic said that the construction of South Stream gas pipeline would commence November 24 near Kovilj.
