Dacic and Vucic confer with Microsoft CEO - Development of IT sector as one of top economic priorities

The IT sector represents a big potential for economic development in Serbia, it was concluded on Monday at a meeting between Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and Microsoft CEO Steve Balmer.

- The Serbian government has marked the growth and development of the IT sector as one of the top economic priorities because this sector can provide a stimulus for the country's economic recovery. Serbia has a huge potential in this field - said Dacic.

The prime minister noted that Microsoft was a true partner of the Serbian government supporting all its efforts put into the development of the IT industry and participating in the process of increasing the rate of digital literacy as well as the protection of intellectual property.

Microsoft CEO Balmer expressed satisfaction with his visit to Serbia and talks with the representatives of the Serbian government, partners and clients, the release reads.
