BAJATOVIC: South Stream construction to start by December 20th

Construction of South Stream gas pipeline in Serbia will commence between November 20 and December 20 this year, Srbijagas CEO Dusan Bajatovic announced Friday (1 November 2013).
He told a press conference that the construction would definitely begin before December 20th, adding that the exact date depended on the presidents of the two countries who were expected to attend the ceremony marking the beginning of works.
Practical work on the construction site near Kovilj will start February 2014, Bajatovic said and added that everything was ready for the commencement of that big project.
He announced that Chairman of the Gazprom Managing Board Alexei Miller would visit Belgrade in about ten days to talk about South Stream among other things.
Bajatovic noted that EUR 500 million would be earmarked for South Stream construction in Serbia in 2014.
