The 9th International Energy Fair held under the slogan “Green Energy” in the period from 9th to 12th October, was intended to draw attention to the Serbian energy sector, use of renewable energy sources, improved energy efficiency with the use of most advanced technologies in the area of environmental protection, as well as the construction of new and rehabilitation and modernization of the existing production facilities.

Traditional participation of the company ABB in this event, which brings together the most important institutions, companies and experts in the power sector of Serbia and abroad, as well as potential investors, has proved that the company has been continuously and consistently following all changes in this area, and paying attention to the projects of increased energy efficiency, which represents one of the pillars of sustainable development, ABB said in a release.

- Like every year, the company ABB from Serbia does its best to present its latest technologies. During the Fair, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Serbia Zorana Mihajlovic, who opened this year’s Fair, visited our stand where she had an opportunity, in brief conversation with the director Aleksandar Ćosić, to get acquainted with this year’s fair presentation of the company ABB - the company noted in the release.

Discrete Automation and Motion Division has by means of a demo unit presented the possibility of profitable business operations through the use of ABB’s ACS880 Series Frequency Regulators.

- Through its energy-efficient products, ABB company provides opportunities for improvement of industrial processes. This class of ACS880 Frequency Regulators represents a new generation of regulators intended for industrial applications. They can easily adapt to a variety of clients’ needs and may be integrated in a number of industrial applications. They constitute a part of ABB’s range of new, compatible frequency regulators constructed to provide the clients in various industries and applications with a unique compatibility, flexibility and easy operation. The new generation of ACS880 industrial frequency regulators may be adapted to virtually every industrial process, automation system and user and business requirements. Low Voltage Division has continued to promote the most advanced technologies of air circuit breakers SACE Emax 2 (LINK) This latest series of low-voltage circuit breakers was launched in April 2013. This innovative circuit breaker has integrated power-management features and may save the energy which is equivalent to the energy consumed by 1.4 million European households and which may help prevent power outages. Replacement of the existing traditional circuit breakers with Emax 2 circuit breakers could result in savings of 5.8 million megawatt-hours (MWh) on an annual basis. This is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 1.4 million EU households.

At this year’s Fair our Division Power Products presented UniSec (LINK) to the professional audience, an air-insulated medium-voltage switchgear for secondary distribution. In today’s market, UniSec is the most versatile switchgear with a wide range of functional units. It is characterized by safety, reliability and easy installation and operation as well as sustainability. Fewer parts, standardized and in modular design, require fewer service staff. Simple access to cable connections, simple connection between modules and easy replacement of switches. Adaptable structure of the switchgear, even in later project stages. Unisec offers the most advanced developments in management, control and protection technology. From simple, self-powered protective relays to the most advanced control and protection relays for all intended uses. This powerful switchgear is the result of ABB’s quest for continuous innovation, for meeting ever-changing market needs and providing a long-term technical solution for a variety of applications.

According to ABB, the Energy Fair was a good opportunity for business meetings and discussions of possible investments and future cooperation, exchange of expertise and information.

- On the second day of the Fair we organized a cocktail party at the booth for our business partners and colleagues, which was visited by about a hundred of participants and where we discussed the current issues, such as the priority of further development of the energy sector.
