Construction of South Stream gas pipeline in Serbia is due to start in December 2013, Gazprom Export confirmed and pointed out in a release that Srbijagas' reorganization process would not endanger the South Stream project.

Project implementation goes as planned, and the decision to build South Stream in Serbia is not questioned any more, the release reads.

As people at Gazprom Export underlined, they did not notice any problems that may slow down or stop the construction of South Stream in Serbia.

The South Stream project in Serbia should be implemented by Russia's Gazprom and Serbia's Srbijagas through their joint venture, and the plan is to invest about EUR 1.7 billion in the construction of that gas pipeline in our country.

The South Stream stretch in Serbia will be about 420 kilometers long and its capacity is projected at 40 billion cubic meters of gas.
