Building permit issued for wastewater treatment plant in Leskovac

Leskovac Mayor Goran Cvetanovic announced Friday (25 October 2013) that the city had officially got a building permit for the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant in Leskovac's village of Bogojevce.

As he explained at a press conference held on the construction site, the seven-month delay in the issuing of this permit was caused by a long procedure for converting agricultural into building land.

- With the construction of the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant, we will create a favorable setting for attracting foreign investors that will operate in a healthy environment. In that way, the Central Wastewater Treatment Plan will also contribute to the creation of new jobs in Leskovac - said Cvetanovic.

About EUR 25 million have been provided from European funds and the budgets of Serbia and the City of Leskovac for the construction of this plant.

The plan is to have all the works completed in 2015.
