The Croatian government has accepted a declaration of the formation of the Adriatic gas corridor between Croatia, Hungary and Ukraine, which aims to secure a high-quality and smooth transport of large volumes of gas.
This declaration is an expression of the readiness and wish of signatory countries to enable the creation of a new gas corridor, which should involve the development of new infrastructure as well as the linking and modernization of existing infrastructure with the aim of facilitating a smooth transport of large volumes of gas.
Croatia's First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Vesna Pusic said that the new gas corridor would positively affect the tapping of the potential of future LPG terminal on Krk Island, the Adriatic-Ionic gas pipeline (IAP), adding that it could also be important for the transfer of gas from the Adriatic Sea, where exploration is underway.
