NAUMOV: Tender for NIS to be announced at the beginning of year 2007

- Government of Serbia has adopted the methodology for privatization of Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS) and made the decision about the commencement of that privatization, that is, sale of certain number of stocks. We are expecting last and final preparations before the announcement of the tender – said Minister of Energy Radomir Naumov in Čačak on the occasion of putting gas network into operation in settlement Alvadžinica and he added that the announcement of the tender could be expected at the beginning of year 2007.

Naumov estimated that Serbia was one of the rare countries in the region in Southeast Europe that had its own national action plan for gas introduction, which encompassed about 100 municipalities in Serbia and implied broader gas introduction that should include nearly 400,000 households prior to year 2015.

Minister put reconstructed high-voltage transformer into operation in Stanovljansko Polje in Kragujevac, which will improve security of supplying of electricity to the consumers in that settlement and in the city. The value of the investment is about 40m RSD.
